  As a long-time customer of WU, I have a backyard full of WU feeders and am very satisfied with the products. However, I have one finch feeder that leaks. Repeated attempts to get this problem rectified at the Zumbehl Road Wildbirds Unlimited location in St. Charles, MO have led to a stand off. I was told the following: the feeder is dirty (it looks dirty because water is getting in); only the parts can be replaced (this has been done to no avail); it needs a rain guard (funny, it did not need this when it was purchased new); the feeder wasn't completely dry when the new food was added; the list goes on. The staff and owner have repeatedly refused to honor the "lifetime warranty." They are overly friendly until they discover you have a feeder that needs to be replaced. Then there is a palpable change of attitude while the customer is barraged with all the reasons the feeder and the pounds of thistle that have been discarded is not due to a faulty feeder but customer inability to care for the feeder properly. I have been told by another franchisee that they will be happy to replace the feeder but that is not the point. This is a lifetime warranty/franchise issue. Corporate is the next stop.
